About Us ABI Rehabilitation is the specialist provider of intensive brain injury rehabilitation for 85% of the population of New Zealand, serving 16 of the 20 DHBs. We are a leader in the field of brain injury rehabilitation and an accredited provider of post-acute, residential, and community based rehabilitation for clients with traumatic brain injury. We are the only provider in Australasia to have attained CARF Accreditation, an international gold standard for person-centred quality rehabilitation. We have a strong client and family/ whanau focus.
ABI Rehabilitation requires Neuro and Clinical psychologists with a particular interest in brain injury and experience in neuro-rehabilitation/concussion services to join our progressive interdisciplinary community team.
The role Our psychologists undertake clinical psychology sessions and psychometric testing as part of our community based rehab and assessment services. We link with our TBI inpatient facility to provide seamless transition for clients returning to work / school, family and daily life. Key clinical roles include assessing and treatment of a variety of clients with brain injury to facilitate return to pre-injury roles and activities. We see our clients at home, in the workplace, school, and clinic based settings.
You will be working in a supportive team environment alongside rehabilitation medical specialists, clinical and neuropsychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech-language therapists.

To be successful in this role, you will have: • Postgraduate qualification in clinical psychology • Registration with the New Zealand Psychologist Board with a “clinical” scope of practice • At least 2 years post graduate work experience with clients with neurological disorders and a special interest in working with clients with brain injury and their whanau • Experience in carrying out ACC Neuropsychological assessments, working under the ACC psychological services contract or concussion services • Post graduate papers in Neuropsychology
