    ABI Rehabilitation is the specialist provider of intensive adult inpatient brain injury rehabilitation for 85% of the population of New Zealand, serving 15 of the 20 DHBs. We have attained accreditation with Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation (CARF) International, an international gold standard for person centred quality rehabilitation.

    We have a full-time position available for a Maori Cultural Support role whose primary objectives will be

    • Provide guidance and leadership in culturally appropriate rehabilitation
    • Manages the quality of the ‘customer experience’ in collaboration with the rehabilitation team
    • Works alongside Client and Whanau and interdisciplinary team with working on meaningful rehabilitation goals
    • Assist with transition points (entry and exit of service) to ensure cultural needs are assessed and addressed
    • Assist with supporting and educating the rehabilitation teams in cultural safety matters and training

    Skills and Experience

    • Good knowledge of Tikanga Maori practices
    • Ability to korero or understand Te Reo Maori
    • Experience in a neuro-rehabilitation and working within health settings
    • Demonstrated leadership skills
    • Strong time management skills
    • Demonstrated teaching skills in respect of junior clinical staff, other staff, clients and their whanau.
    • Demonstrated ability work within an interdisciplinary team
    • Demonstrated excellent customer service and communication skills
    • Excellent administrative/computer skills
    • Current NZ driver Licence
    • Social work experience would be an advantage
