ABI Rehabilitation requires Neuro and Clinical psychologists with a particular interest in brain injury and experience in neuro-rehabilitation/concussion services to join our progressive interdisciplinary community team. We are a leader in the field of brain injury rehabilitation and an accredited provider of post-acute, residential, and community based rehabilitation for clients with traumatic brain injury.
Our psychologists undertake clinical psychology sessions and psychometric testing as part of our community based rehab and assessment services. We link with our TBI inpatient facility to provide seamless transition for clients returning to work / school, family and daily life. Key clinical roles include assessing and treatment of a variety of clients with brain injury to facilitate return to pre injury roles and activities. We see our client’s at home, workplace, school, and clinic based settings. We have a strong client and family/ whanau focus.
You would be working in a supportive team environment alongside rehabilitation medical specialists, clinical and neuropsychologists, occupational therapists and speech-language therapists.
We have a growing team of in house clinical and neuro- psychologists and you would have the opportunity to contribute to rehabilitation service planning and promotion, ongoing training and development of fellow team members, and clinical research. We require a high standard of work and in return are committed to our staff and offer flexible working hours. The right candidate will be given supervision to become an ACC Named Provider for Psychology and /or Neuropsychology contracts.
Successful applicants will have a postgraduate qualification in clinical psychology and be registered with the New Zealand Psychologist Board with a “clinical” scope of practice. You must have a least 2 years post graduate work experience with clients with neurological disorders and a special interest in working with clients with brain injury and their whanau. Experience in carrying out ACC Neuropsychological assessments, working under the ACC psychological services contract or concussion services and post graduate papers in Neuropsychology are a requirement for this position.
